This is a website to celebrate the life of our son Jesse Ryan Fisher who passed away in his sleep on January 17th in Hikone, Japan. He was living in Japan working as an English teacher working primarily with elementary school age children. Jesse was also a musician, actor and comedian. Most of all he was a good friend to many including his parents.
Over the last six weeks there has been an outpouring of memories and tributes on Facebook and we encourage you to look up Jesse there. We will share other photos and provide links to Jesse’s YouTube channels here over the next days and weeks.
We are also planning other ways to honor Jesse, support people and things that Jesse cared about, and in general, keep his spirit alive. We want to be inclusive of others, so let us know if you have something you would like us to share here.
Initial themes that we know are important to Jesse include:
- Bridging Cultures
- Humor
- Music – especially creating on the spot, being in the moment, extemporizing
- Friendship – and meaningful gatherings
- Viable economic pathways for musicians, gardeners, teachers
- Inter-generational relationships
